Global Warming

Much debate over global warming at the moment. Evidence is that human activity is causing the warming over and above what is considered to be normal changes in the weather patterns or climate. There is also some evidence that the planet biosphere is adapting to the change of carbon dioxide by processing it more efficiently. Do we really have cause for alarm.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who really matters, who never did, and who always will.

I'm not really sure if we should be alarmed, exactly. . . However, since the industrial revolution, we have been pumping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Any reduction in the output of greenhouse gases would be beneficial to the atmosphere regardless of what is causing the majority of warming.

I think that's great and also in the near future, we might be able to artificially offset the carbon dioxide significantly, but I don't think we should rely on it. The best thing everyone can do is limit consumption.

For everyone backed in a corner:
    Evacuations are in order.
    And we're leaving tonight.

I am not alarmed at all by this. Many people seem to forget about the earthquake that happend in Japan in recent years. A slight change in degrees of the axis causes profound climate changes all around the world. 55 percent of the U.S. will be affected within this year due to devastating droughts across the midwest in the States. Also, the solar flares from the sun have more of an affect on air temperature than Carbon dioxide. Water vapor is a stronger greenhouse gas than Carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide will be very good for all forms of life. Increase Carbon dioxide levels in the air will allow the organism to store oxygen, glucose, proteins, lipids, nutrients, and minerals much more effiecently and for longer periods of time. A decrease in oxygen in the air would not hurt either. As oxygen is a free radical. Even with temperature increase, increased Carbon dioxide levels aid in thermoregulation therefore aiding the adaptative abilities of the organism. However, Carbon dioxide levels may not increase enough because 0.04 percent is still very small. We start seeing really nice changes around 2 percent. Ultimately, the earth is going do what it is going to do. I do want to point out that we emit much of our waste in waters or land and this would most certianly, indirectly of course, contribute to global warming (oil spills, nuclear waste, etc, etc).

And the waste emits carbon dioxide(?)... which causes (?).... global warming.:)

It depends, VFX, on what is important to you whether you should be worried or not. I tend to be an idealist, so I would like to believe that the earth would be in a much better place if we would respect nature with the knowledge that we have about it and do our best not to bring it to ruins. Some people say that there is no turning back from the effects we have had and that we are basically on a downwards spiral when it comes to the earths demise. Probably, even if we stopped everything we have been doing to earth it would still be too late. When we talk about slowing down the effects of global warming I think you have to keep in mind the amount of time it took compared to earths lifespan before it to get rid of the ozone, pollute the air to dangerous amounts in some places(they have actual alarms go out now to tell people to stay inside because of smog), and the eager rush to destroy the one resource we have to absorb the pollution(TREES). If you would stand off at a distance(say, you are a alien that can live for 14 billion years and happened to be born in a pod with a nifty view of the earth), you would see a beautiful rythmic course of nature take place and then a horrible orgasm of destruction at the end. We are living that climax right now. Sadly.

If we want to make any difference it would be a STOP NOW thing and billions of people would be forced to give up all of their ingrained and implied comforts and luxuries to save(hopefully save, not surely) a planet for their children and their childrens children and in the case of many OTHER PEOPLES CHILDREN. I would be for a mass STOP NOW. But I am thinking most everybody else(no offense and huge generalisation) would be rioting.
