If you had to choose

I'm still against religion, but, if you had to chose a religion (one that's recognized), what would it be and why.

Me: laveyan satanism (atheist version, of course). It teaches individualism, knowledge, "respect is earned with respect" (to sum up a few points), not harming children (sorry, christian priests), not harming others unless they become a threat, acceptance, tolerance, and humanity. Best reason, when you tell christians about it, you see the fear in their eyes (MUAHAHAHAHAHA). But seriously, it acknowledges that others are different, and let others live how they see fit, as long as it doesn't truly harm others. Lucifer is idolized as a symbol, because he stood up to god (the tyrant), so he symbolized as a rebel against an unjust idea. What are your choices?

I would choose the Flying Spaghetti Monster due to the obvious qualities.

You'll choose THAT? But if you're going that route, everyone knows that Invisible Pink Unicorn is the better choice. I mean, c'mon, use some common sense.

I'd probably be Buddhist. It's wisdom and ways of handling life (on a broad general level, I can't speak to specifics) are really something I can get behind.

Buddhism is good for me too. Not really the hardcore fundametalist buddhism in TIbet, where the priests basically use the tenets of buddism to exploit everyone else. Just the cool bits. And I guess having to believe in some sort of innocuous "enlightenment" is alright, as long as I'm discerning enough to tell when people are pretending to be enlightened prophets and I never delude myself into thinking I have achieved enlightenment.

Eastern wisdom altogether. And the laveyan satanism does have some to speak of.

Why are we choosing? Doesn't that go against the satanistic way? Shouldn't people be able to walk in and out of shadows as they please?:)

That LaVeyan Satanism sounds interesting, and not at all like what I was expecting. I will definately be ordering a copy of the Satanist Bible (for educational reasons, I'm not planning on converting from athiesm). From what I've looked up about it, I agree with everything except the bit about magic.
