thank you....i believe they do not and as you said, in the same way, you believe that God does not exist?
    or:

You seem to be misunderstanding some things. Here's an excellent video by QualiaSoup, explaining the concept much better than I ever could.

ok, so i can concede to an extent. but according to the video, you must believe that a) the existence of God is false, b) is true, or c) you believe neither way. which of course is what i have already submitted. so which is it for you?

The video explained my position. I am not agnostic, I am atheist. Atheist is defined as "lack of belief in the existence of a God or Gods". Gods do not feature among the things I believe in.
So I was right about this

Posted By: InfernoI absolutely disagree. Lack of belief =/= belief, that's the whole point. #definition #logic

and you were wrong when you said this

Posted By: jsizzlexyes, not believing in these is at the same time an active belief that they do not. #logic

    and this

Posted By: jsizzlexyour lack of belief in God is still a belief that there is none. so in that alone we are separated by beliefs.

Do you accept that you were in error? Then we can move on.

    Welcome to the forum.

Do you claim a denomonation? Or are you one of those "Follow-Jesus-but-not-Religious" types?

Posted By: jsizzlexI had a discussion w/ an atheist recently via twitter and his winning statement was "fu*k off, bye" and then blocked me.....that surely wont happen here.
Surely not! At least not from a "regular."

So I was following the whole "do you believe there's no God" part of the conversation and to answer your question, though not directed at me exactly:

Posted By: jsizzlexaccording to the video, you must believe that a) the existence of God is false, b) is true, or c) you believe neither way. which of course is what i have already submitted. so which is it for you?
I am atheist, and I don't believe either way. I can't speak for every atheist as I'm sure you couldn't speak for every Christian, but many atheist such as myself are perfectly fine not knowing some things that are unknowable (and I don't mean in a vague "because I feel I know" sort of way). We may venture to guess what something could be, but we don't claim knowledge. And that's OK. I don't know 100% that Zeus is going to throw lightning bolts at me, but I keep living like it's not going to happen, because based on life experiences, experiences of others, and things that I do know, it's not likely that it's going to happen.

    Edit for clarity.

Welcome jsizzlex! I hope you stick around. You seem like a smart guy so far. :) I look forward to having many intelligent discussions with you, but since people have addressed many of your points again, I have nothing to add right now. Just thought I'd say hi.

lol! ok ,so should i correct my initial statement to "the things that seperate us are what i believe and what you dont believe"?

saying you dont believe in the existence of God IS the same as saying you believe that God does not exist regardless of how you manipulate the argument.

BUT if we can agree to disagree on such a trivial item, i can in fact move on to the next, if you are equally as willing.

im starting to like you bro. :) #nohomo

Posted By: InfernoYou're dodging my question. Why do you believe in God?

to fully understand my answers you must acknowledge that they all come from a Christian worldview and originate in the Bible which is, according to itself, truth.

i believe in God because He has shown Himself to be faithful to His word, both in my life and throughout history as a whole. i have been given no evidence by man to believe otherwise.

Many books state themselves as being true, that is not the best way to let your mind decide whether they are or not.

Raised Pentecostal here. Was part of a mainly black church during my early childhood before going to a mega-church (Assembly of God).
