   How the hell do you get pushy Christians to just lay off? I mean FFS.... I am an Atheist, my girlfriend is a Christian, and her and her ignorant bible thumping mother openly Admit that they think im going to hell. Were goin on a year now and I love her but how the fuck do you deal with that? Her mom was giving her "Accept Christ into your heart" speech (like I have not heard it a million times from others), and starts parrot quoting bible verses from her Sunday service, ( Even though her or my girlfriend have never even read the bible, not even half of it) and gets so aggressive in her attempt to convert me, that she brings me to fucking tears by using my dead Grandmother as incentive to become Christian. "She doesnt have to be dead you know! She will be waiting for you, but if you are an atheist you cant think that" and after i stopped crying i asked her if she could please stop trying to convert me......please. Wanna know what she said? " I cant do that.... Mark 16:15"
   WTF are you kidding me? I just dont know what the fuck to do anymore. Dumb bitch insinuating that i wouldn't like to think my Grandma is waiting for me when i die. Fuck her.

   How about you fight back? Educate yourself, quote Bible verses right back at them. Show them that the Bible is
   1) Immoral.
   2) Not to be taken literally, because there is no scientific truth in it, no historical one and it contradicts itself the whole time.
   3) Not the only holy book. (The Jewish Torah, the Christian gospels, the Qur’an of Islam, the Kitab-i-Aqdas of Bahá’u’lláh, the Hindu Vedas, the Avestas of Zarathustra, the Adi-Granth of the Sikhs, the Mahabarata’s Bhagavad-Gita, the Book of Mormon, and the Urantia book to name but a few that AronRa mentions)The Cosmos is all that is or ever was or ever will be. -Carl Sagan

   I'm assuming you're a younger man, Ninja. Is this correct?
   
   As far as i'm concerned you have no idea whether this relationship will work with your girlfriend or not. But guess what the bright side is: It may! And, it won't be because of your beliefs. She'll love you because of who you are, if you are a good person that is. :)
   
   Also, since you don't believe.. this shouldn't be so hard for you... You can always ask her how she is so sure you grandmother got in to heaven? For all she knows, even if your grandmother professed to be a believer she could have certainly been pagan in her solitude!

   Oh yeah... In addition to what Inferno said, tell her that Jesus commanded his disciples to love God and then love your neighbor, for this fulfills the law given to the prophets. It bypasses all other tenets! So, if she says she can't stop harrasing you, simply tell her that she's not loving you when she's disrespecting you.    My dad just passed away about 5 months ago and instead of being comforted as I assumed I would be, I was bombarded with jesus pamphlets about how I could still be a good person and the 12 reasons why I shouldn't be mad at god for what he's done. I think my personal favorite was The most important thing about your life is your relationship with God.

   Oh I left the logical argument section out of my story everyone here is well versed as far as that goes but arguing with a creationist is like yelling at a brick wall to move. I attempted explaining the burden of proof to her, i said "The person making the positive claim must provide the proof for that claim, you say there is a God, now the burden lies with you"
   wanna know her response? "How is that fair??? simply because i spoke first means i have to provide the proof?!? what if you started the argument with there is no god?! where is YOUR proof"

   i am very well educated as far as the bible i was raised Catholic, as a Religious person ive read the bible cover to cover 3 times. As an atheist i have a total of 8.

    Im really sorry. If it hurt enough for someone to use my Grandma months after she died for religious purposes i can only imagine what you felt right after your dad died.

    No need to be sorry, just kinda a rude awakening to realize how many fucking idiots really do exist. You would think people would be somewhat more compassionate, but maybe they interpreted their actions as doing so...
    I'll be completely honest, I was really tempted to try and rejoin my old church just for the sake of seeing him again. But then I quit sitting on my ignorance is bliss cloud and realized that I don't have any good logical reason to waste my time on faith and that if there really is a god or whatever, he'll know exactly what I'm going through and still "accept" me or whatever.
