Very unseeming talk for a Baron godless. This is so un English. How ignoble :) Now you need a nice picture to go with your enhanced status. You could be as cute as Stevo or Matt or even the most handsome me. Now we want our Matty to pay to become a duke or something, but indeed like you he is most worthy of Baron Hood. I hear the FSM has exulted you both on the highest noodle.

Posted By: EVLWNSCould someone please tell me why dividing by 0 does not result in infinity?
Posted By: MATTInfiniti is undefined isn't it?I've had dinner with the Devil, and I know nice from right.
Posted By: Arethusa BransomeNo. Because infinite zeroes is still zero. So dividing by zero doesn't get infinity.GENERATION 30: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.

Posted By: normlDid you not take algebra 2? It's undefined because zero wouldn't even be a point. It would be nothing. There's an infinite amount of points in between 1 and 2, but there's an undefined amount of nothings in between them."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." ~ Bertrand Russell

Ah, there I think you are wrong.
Here is my justification for dividing by zero bresulting in infinity:
Imagine a line. It can be of any length. This line is a number line. Let's just say it is 1 length. A solid, continuous line that represents the numerical value of 1. Now imagine zero in this way. If you think correctly, what you should imagine is a point - something that does not extend for any distance in any direction. Since this point has no length and occupies no distance whatsoever, you can fit an unlimited number of these points along the number line, no matter how long the number line is. In this way, if you divide a number up into zero-dimensional points (ie. divide it by zero), you will get an infinite number of them.
Hence, dividing by zero gets you infinity.

Maybe 0*infiniti is literally equal to every number?
